Baptists welcome minister

The Baptist churches in Barnoldswick, Earby and Salterforth have welcomed a new minister.

The Rev Matt Jones, along with his wife Sarah and sons Tim, Ben and Manny, arrived in West Craven this week.

Twenty years ago the three Baptist churches decided to work together for the good of the community and Mr Jones is keen to ensure that continues.

He has been in some form of ministry for the last 15 years and spent six years in youth work, before completing three years' ministerial training.

After he had completed his training, Mr Jones moved to Derby as the minister of the Junction Baptist Church, where he has spent the past six years.

He married Sarah 12 years ago and since then she has juggled the roles of mum and student.

The family enjoys caravaning and walking in the countryside and is especially looking forward to living near the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.

They bring to West Craven their continuing faith and are looking forward to the next chapter in their lives.
